This is a 'Least Bittern' that "walked" across the road in front of me today. When he got to this side of the road he just gave me the evil eye for a while before flying a few feet over behind the weeds and into a drainage ditch. We often hear these from the little creek that runs through our property....very strange "gallumping" sound. We rarely see them, so this was kind of neat.
I just thought this was a pretty scene. I so miss my horse. I just love to watch them when I have the opportunity. There are many in our area, a few boarding stables, and the Amish horses, which these ones are.
